A few weeks ago, Switchfoot launched their latest tour, starting in Asheville, North Carolina.

Recently I road-tripped down to Asheville, North Carolina with my family to see Switchfoot live in concert. The band had been on hiatus for over a year, so it was amazing to see how hype they were to be on tour again.

We were at a little venue in Asheville called the Orange Peel. This is by far our favorite place to see live music because it has such an intimate feel. Only a couple thousand people tops can fit inside, so you're always close to performers.

You can interact with whoever is on stage, and Switchfoot is such a cool band because they love to crowd-surf, have conversations with the audience, and sometimes even invite people on stage!

I put together a little vlog about the concert on my Youtube channel, so check it out and I'd love to hear your thoughts! (Hopefully in the future I'll be creating a lot more content for my Youtube channel, too!)

VIP EXPERIENCE

But here's a little background about the VIP experience. It basically included a bunch of fun extras like stickers, buttons, etc. We also got posters signed by the whole band.

Probably the coolest part was the extra interaction we got to have with the band. We showed up early and met the band photographer, Erick Frost, who was awesome, and then got let into a private sound-check with the band. They warmed up and played a couple songs that weren't in the actual concert (Like "Dark Horses", which was sick), and actually invited a guy on stage to play the song with them.

Afterwards, we had the opportunity to take photos with the band, and meeting them was awesome. They were all super genuine people who asked our names, and I only wish there was more time to chat with them all.

Literally by the end of the concert, the photos had been edited and posted online, which was great. Colony House played before Switchfoot, and the performances by both bands were amazing.

I think maybe because it was the start of the tour and everyone was fresh, the energy in the room was electric. Such a good concert and the memories will stick with me for years - that's for sure.

What's the most unforgettable concert experience you've ever had? I'd love to hear.

The biggest takeaway I had from this weekend was that I need to intentionally listen to live music more. The energy and passion in live performances are things you just can't experience through headphones alone.
